Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on December 7 7 1963 in Edo State, Nigeria, was raised in a family of faith, supported by loving and devoted parents. He is the father of Elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the first pioneers of the Assemblies to God Church in Benin City. The LoveWorld ministry is actively supported by the entire family. His brother Reverend Ken is the renowned pastor of Christ Embassy's Houston, Texas Church and is a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council as well as his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which houses a variety of world-class gospel artists.

Pastor Chris has two children: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon has chosen to follow in her father's footsteps of sharing the gospel of God with the world, also called CSO, she is a talented, award-winning gospel singer and member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts family.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his studies at Edo College. Then he was granted a scholarship to study at Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There was he obtained an BSc. in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He holds an honorary divinity degree from Benson Idahosa University. The Man Of God was in the University of Cambridge when he started the church that would grow to be one of the largest in the world. His small prayer group,  called 'Youth for Christ' would eventually be one of the university's most popular groups. They would later go on to create LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy with millions of followers.

Under the direction of Pastor Chris, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LoveWorldSAT broadcast the first Christian television station from Africa to the rest of the world, all the time via free-to-air networks. In the present, LoveWorld stations can be found on satellite and cable television networks across the globe.

Christ Embassy has strong presence in Pastor Chris's homeland of Nigeria, South Africa and Canada. The ministry operates two Healing Schools based in South Africa. These schools are where Pastor Chris holds seasonally sessions which allow miraculous events to occur.

In addition to preaching the Gospel message the Man Of God has also created NGOs that are tasked with providing vital services and hope to the most vulnerable and marginalized people. Five partners form part of COFI which works together to improve the living conditions in the poorest areas.

COFI oversees the InnerCity Mission, ICM for Children as well as the Volunteer Medical Corps and Trauma International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation , and the Bible For All Mission. Each of the organizations works to improve lives, health and spirits of those in dire need.
